  • We're a little for our January picks but here are our recommendations and favourite articles from last month! 💫 Read below to see why we loved these articles:

US Capitol Attack: A Dark Day for American Democracy - This is a must-read. Raw and uncensored, Abisola Bishi writes a passionate and compelling article about the atrocities of the US Capitol Attack. It has received a well-deserved 162 views.

The Western Wakanda Complex - with 139 views, Kimberly Nhundu's critical commentary on representations of Africa or more accurately, the misrepresentation of Africa in the media is a powerful read.

Freelancing Saved me From Hierarchies - Writer Elliott Daley on Life after Queen Mary - This is a well-researched and interesting interview written by Priya Sugumar. Priya impresses by asking the questions we really want to hear, and going above and beyond in her role as contributor. This article received an amazing 173 views!

  • INTRODUCING OUR NEW MONTHLY INITIATIVE!

Editors' Picks:

Every month we'll be recommending three stand-out pieces on social media to our readers. We'll be choosing pieces based on the quality of writing, numbers of views, and the overall impact that the piece has.

Keep an eye out, we'll be releasing our January and February faves soon! 💫
  • As we approach the final few months of the academic year, it's time for us to start looking for a new committee! We've had some amazing wins this year, having received the Best Newcomer Award in London from the Student Publication Association just last week. If you want to continue on the legacy of an award-winning magazine consider becoming our next editor-in-chief, treasurer, or welfare representative.

Key Dates:

15th February - EIC candidates meeting
25th February - Deadline to submit manifesto
15th March - Election Period

For each role you are required to submit a manifesto by the 25th of February. The elections will be held on the QMSU website. According to regulations we are required to elect a treasurer alongside an editor-in-chief. We will also be selecting (not electing) a welfare rep alongside these roles.

Contact us for more information and to get the link for the EIC candidates meeting on Monday. Good luck! 🙌
